UALP 2024
2024 was a significant year for UALP. We took intentional, easeful steps towards building a regenerative/sustainable future for our communities.
Highlights from 2024:
1. Closed on 8 acres of wooded land through an act of financial reparations!
2. Added to our solar generator system to power off-grid projects through loving/supportive financial donations
3. Built our first rainwater catchment system and installed a driveway
4. Offered our first free in-person and online community rest and movement nature spaces
5. Distributed financial mutual aid to over 50 families impacted by catastrophic Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina
6. Completed the Game of Logging tree-felling course to share skills of safely falling trees with community
7. Assisted our friends at WILDSEED Community Farm & Healing Village with shiitake mushroom log inoculation to contribute to their community food forest
8. Created programming in partnership with WILDSEED centered on the healing, rest, care, and skill sharing of community
9. Started the threads of free seed exchange with other BIPOC land stewards/food growers along the East coast
10. Hosted community & family at the land for the first time!
